Car loans customers being helped to cut CO2

Earlier this month the government launched a new rankings system in association with What Car? magazine that shows fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of vehicles.

Approved car finance customers could now find it easier to buy greener used cars, according to Auto Express.

The magazine reports that a new scheme from vehicle history checking company HPI will offer used car customers environmental information on used cars.

It is thought that drivers looking to buy a second-hand car, including used car finance customers, will be able to check used models against eco-sheets that help to advise on CO2 emissions.

The eco-sheets are available free to dealers and are reportedly similar in design to those already in use for new cars.

Auto Express also states that used Land Rover owners are being encouraged to offset their carbon emissions as the manufacturers' online CO2 calculator has now been adapted to include older models.
