Car finance customers could make Smart choice

Earlier this month Debbie Hull, a spokeswoman for Mercedes Benz - the manufacturer behind Smart cars, said that energy efficient motoring was on the rise.

Smart have released details of their latest fortwo model, which could be of interest to new car loans customers.

According to Reuters the new car boasts a list of improvements on the previous model which aims to target consumers, including those with car finance, who are concerned with cost and eco-friendliness.

The news agency reports that Smart have stated that the new model is 90 per cent redesigned and aside from a new engine, gearbox and interior has been equipped with better safety features and an increased top speed of 90mph.

It is also reported that the car, which sold 770,000 in its first generation, also benefits from a range of petrol engines that produce 61 bhp, 71 bhp and 84 bhp respectively with a 45 bhp diesel model expected next year.

Prices for the new car start at £6,900 and the turbo-charged will come with a £9,020 price tag, which could represent a bargain for car finance customers looking to buy new.
